CONCEPT OF DESIGN

The museum represents a serious attempt to illustrate the struggle story of the Palestinian prisoners and detainees. And when we talk about torture and suffering we shouldn’t forget the story of prophet Jesus & the suffering he faced through the path of sorrows.

Until now all Palestinian prisoners are facing torture and pain just as the Palestinian prophet Jesus faced.

We translated this concept into Architecture by:

  1. we have two stages

stage one ( ground floor)

reminding of prophet Jesus story by using Jerusalem traditional architectural materials such as antique stones, antique wood and antique iron..

stage two ( first floor)

using modern materials to talk about nowadays prisoners to imply that same story is going on but in a new modern way.

  1. using narrow stepped uncomfortable path ways surrounded by rocks & cactus plants

  2. drop beams in different heights

  3. using different kinds of plants inside the museum.

a. cactus plants to imply strength , patience & suffering

b.  flowers & nice kinds of plants to indicate hope and reminding of freedom
